Furyk Captures the RBC Heritage

The frustration of a nearly five-year drought was on full display after Jim Furyk made a birdie on the second hole of a playoff at the RBC Heritage.  Furyk dropped the putter to the green and raised his fists in a show of raw passion.

Furyk held off Kevin Kisner who had to birdie the 18th hole just to make a playoff and then birdied 18 again on the first playoff hole.  For Furyk, it had to feel like another "here we go again" moment following the near-misses he has suffered over the last five years.  It was refreshing to see the emotion pout out of a normally stoic Furyk.  CBS was quick to highlight and comment on the display.

With his second place finish, Kisner reaches the $1,000,000 mark in 2015 earnings.  Troy Merritt, who was the 54-hole leader, is still looking for his first PGA Tour victory after getting lapped by Furyk and Kisner in the final round.

On to the Big Easy and Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
