Michigan -vs- Colorado: First Signs of Struggle

Apologies for completely missing to post the Michigan/UCF game from last weekend.  Truth be told, it was drafted on a mobile device, and instead of saving in drafts, was somehow deleted.  Michigan blew out UCF so let's be honest - there wasn't too much to talk about.

This week, however, is a different story.  For the first time in this young season, Michigan faced adversity.  Colorado came into Michigan Stadium, and in the blink of an eye, was up 21-0 on the Wolverines.

But thanks to a tremendous effort from special teams, a more tempered offense, and a guy by the name of Jabril Peppers, Michigan not only took a 3-point lead heading into half, but went on to win comfortably 45-28.

It is sometimes unfair to isolate a single player in a team sport, but Peppers has become an absolute wrecking ball for Michigan.  He gets into the backfield, is there on almost every tackle, and on Saturday returned his first punt for a touchdown of the 2016 season.  It is hard to remember a defensive player this exciting at Michigan since........yeah - Charles Woodson.

Michigan ends the non-conference schedule a perfect 3-0 and opens Big Ten play against Penn State.  The Nittany Lions have not been overly impressive this season and come into the game with a 2-1 record.  Michigan is a 20 point favorite and, provided they don't get off to the same shaky first quarter that they suffered against Colorado, Michigan should advance to 4-0 heading into the final home stand game against Wisconsin.
