Resume Win
Michigan's 13th victory of the year came against the 3rd ranked team in the country. It was a resume win that Michigan has desperately been looking for all year. While 2015-2016 has not been a disappointment, it has lacked that signature win that boosts a resume come tournament time. Michigan won 2/3 in the Battle for Atlantis, they won their road game against NC State in the Big Ten/ACC challenge, but they had not yet knocked off a top-tier team. That changed Tuesday night at Crisler Center.
Michigan is 1-1 during their 3-game stretch against ranked opponents. They play at Iowa on Sunday afternoon. A road win against a ranked Hawkeye team would catapult Michigan back to the top of the Big Ten.

Offensively, Michigan was led by Zak Irvin's 22 points. Duncan Robinson went 5-9 from beyond the arc. Defensively, Michigan held Maryland star Melo Trimble to just 2 points in 30 minutes of play. It was Michigan's most complete game of the year and is even more impressive given the absence of Caris LaVert. Michigan is 1-1 during their 3-game stretch against ranked opponents.
