22 Days and Counting

The Jim Harbaugh era officially beings in earnest in just 22 short days.  Sure the summer of Harbaugh has been fun from Jim's trips to Peru and Paris to the Satellite Camps which caused a stir in SEC country.  The buildup surrounding Harbaugh's return to Michigan has been nothing short of astonishing.  The local shops, typically filled with Block M everything and uniforms featuring the number of the starting quarterbacks have been replaced with khaki pants, blue crew shirts, and nostalgic #4 jerseys.

Where do things stand approximately 3 weeks from the season opener?

  • Sports Illustrated predicted that Michigan would go 6-6 in Harbaugh's first season as head coach.  FULL DISCLOSURE: Sports Illustrated is *allegedly* having financial difficulties.
  • Colin Cowherd officially announced his arrival at FOX Sports and will make his on-air debut for the Michigan @ Utah contest.  The last time Cowherd and Harbaugh spoke, it was less than memorable.  Let's hope Colin's interviewing skills vastly improve before then.
  • Michigan Stadium has reduced it's overall seating capacity to 107,601.  Michigan Stadium will still be the largest football stadium in the United States.
  • For the first time in a long time, there is a true quarterback competition at Michigan between Chad Morris and Jake Ruddock.  B&B's prediction: Jake Ruddock wins.
