Michigan Baseball: B1G Champions

In a delayed post, congratulations to the University of Michigan Baseball team for winning the Big Ten Tournament over the weekend.  The win gives Michigan an automatic birth in the NCAA Tournament.

Though the team has not been on the national radar in the last several years, Michigan has a proud and rich history.  It has produced major league players such as Jim Abbot and Barry Larkin (and even though he did not play for the Wolverines, Derek Jeter received and accepted a scholarship to play for the Wolverines).  Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers executive responsible for bringing Jackie Robinson to Major League Baseball, was a manager at Michigan where he earned his law degree.

Go Blue!
