2018 NCAA Tournament

68 teams found out yesterday (through the worst selection show of all time) that they would be playing in the NCAA Tournament.  This included the Big Ten Champion Michigan Wolverines.

Many Wolverine fans hoped for a first weekend placement in Detroit.  In order for that to happen, Michigan wouldnhave to be ranked a 3 seed and be ranked higher than Michigan State and Purdue.  Michigan is a 3 seed - but are ranked below the Spartans and  Boilermakers.

It is worth mentioning that Purdue is a 2 seed despite not winning the Big Ten regular season or the Big Ten Tournament.  How the committee ranked them higher than Michigan or Michigan State is a big head scratcher - the same kind that arise every year without any explanation or accountability.

And while many Wolverine fans are mad that they have to face Montana (and possibly Houston if they advance) are overlooking the fact that this Michigan team plays with a huge chip on their shoulder.  They have played with an edge all year long.  The same edge that has seen them play a harder brand of defense and overcome adversity.  There is no doubt the Wolverines will view this as a sign of disrespect and use that in their favor.

As for the games itself, Michigan gets a Thursday night matchup at around 9:50PM in Witchita, Kansas against Montana.  The game will be broadcast on TBS with Brad Nesslernand Steve Lavin on the call.
