Michigan rolls the Terps
For the first time since 2006, Michigan football is 9-0 to start the season. With the exception of Wisconsin, and the first-half of Michigan State and Colorado, Michigan has made quick and easy work of it's opponents. Saturday was no different as the Wolverines welcomed back former defensive coordinator DJ Durkin and the Maryland Terrapins to the Big House with a 59-3 beat down.
Quarterback Wilton Speight played a near flawless game showing both some improved mobility as well as accurate downfield passes.
That being said, a quick note to Michigan football fans: R-E-L-A-X. If I have to hear another football expert from Section 13 yelling to the defense, or to a Harbaugh, the next time a team scores or gets a first down, I am going to lose it. Yes, this defense is legitimate. But let's not forget that as the season goes on, teams are going to be able to scheme against Michigan's holes. Michigan State openly talked about how they planned on running at Peppers because they viewed him as undersized. While Sparty had success running the ball, Peppers still had a big day and Michigan still won the game.
Not to overlook Indiana (who barely squeaked out a road win against putrid Rutgers this week) but Michigan's last real challenge before the match-up with Ohio State is this week's night game against Iowa. It should also say something about what constitutes a "challenge" these days for the Wolverines since the early lines out of Vegas have Michigan has an 18-20 point favorite. While Iowa is not the team they were last year that appeared in the Rose Bowl, they are still a solid football team who will be gunning for the bulls eye on Michigan's back. Road games are always a challenge. Road games at night are almost always a trap. Michigan is superior in every way including on-field talent and coaching - but they need to play buttoned up to get out of Iowa City with the win.

Despite the cries from the fans at Michigan Stadium over some of the "big plays" by Maryland's offense, the Terrapins were only able to muster a 4th quarter field goal. It is amazing what two years of competent and well-coached football can do for expectations. Two years ago, those same fans were filled with anxiety over the prospect of not even making a bowl game. This year, they are gripped with anger whenever Michigan's defense surrenders a first down. With great success comes great expectations - and so far Michigan has lived up to them.Well done, Wilton. What a game. 👊#GoBlue pic.twitter.com/hKEyr8odB8— Michigan Football (@UMichFootball) November 6, 2016
