Rory Out of Action
Rory McIlroy did his best USWNT impression over the weekend (huge congratulations to the ladies of the US Soccer team - incredible match). Unfortunately, it didn't end well for the top-ranked golfer in the world. McIlroy suffered an ankle injury and will be out of action. Though McIlroy has not confirmed it, speculation is that he will miss the upcoming Open Championship.
This is a huge blow, not just to McIlroy, but to the golfing world as a whole. McIlroy was the defending champion at St. Andrews. His rival, Jordan Spieth, is going for the third leg of the Grand Slam. A McIlroy/Spieth match-up would have been Phil/Tiger-esque.
